Applications for the professional program may be obtained on our website in PDF format. Applications must be submitted
to the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences by January 15 for the class beginning in
August each year.
An official college transcript and three letters of recommendation, two of which should be from basic science instructors, must accompany the application materials.
In order to be admitted to the CLS program at KU, the student must have earned at least a 2.3 grade-point average (GPA) in basic sciences (biology, chemistry, microbiology, physics) and at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Additionally, students must have earned a grade of C or better in all required science prerequisites.
The University of Kansas program in Clinical Laboratory Science requires two years of preparatory
college coursework (57 hours minimum) and two years of professional course
work. Students interested in clinical lab science should contact the department
at the KU Medical Center campus for advising early in their college work. Academic advising
is also available on the Lawrence campus.
International students must meet additional requirements, including English Language standards, prior to enrollment. Please visit our frequently asked questions page or the KUMC Office of International Programs for more information.
The program is open to students with BA, BS, or BGS degrees
who have completed the prerequisites.
